The multi-billion dollar online advertising business is forecasted to grow to $80B by 2010 making AdCenter one of the core “big bets” at Microsoft.

A newly formed Revenue and Relevance Algorithms Team is part of the Paid Search effort in AdCenter. We develop algorithms to measure the quality of ads and its impact on ad monetization. In order to do so, we utilize diverse natural languages platforms to measure intrinsic ad quality. As such, our algorithms are at the very heart of the AdCenter efforts and our team is privileged to have a very direct opportunity to make such a huge difference in the Company's bottom line.

We are looking for a talented, creative and driven Software Development Engineer with a strong research bent to join our team and help us beat Google in their game. The candidate needs to demonstrate ability and experience in the entire product development cycle for large scale software projects. Great software design and development skills, strong mathematical, statistical and algorithmic background, ability to work independently and in small teams, superb C#, C/C++ development skills, rock solid problem solving skills and ability to think out of box are a must. A graduate degree in CS, EE or Math is highly desirable.

Proven track record in independently developing complex machine learning based systems, utilizing multiple machine learning frameworks and techniques for optimal accuracy and performance is a big plus. Expertise in server side software development with emphasis on scalability, reliability, asynchronous and concurrent programming, is nice to have. In this role, the candidate must be able to multitask, work effectively across teams and other disciplines. This is a very dynamic job with lots of interesting challenges in the space.

Requirements Include:
5+ Years of experience in independently developing complex machine learning based systems.
M.Sc. in CS or equivalent university degree (e.g. EE, math …).
Strong mathematical, statistical and algorithmic background, rock-solid problem solving skills
Super solid coding skills, 5+ years experience in C, C++ and/or C#
Solid overall software engineering skills
Independence and resourcefulness, excellent teamwork and communication skills

The following skills are not a requirement but are a big plus:
Ph.D. in machine learning or in optimization techniques, or equivalent experience
Experiences in software development for the mobile web and smartphones are highly desirable.
Expertise in server side software development with emphasis on scalability, reliability, asynchronous and concurrent programming, is nice to have.
