About the team
The International Engineering Excellence team is devoted to advance engineering and engineers across Microsoft distributed development centers. We are chartered to work with the leadership of all the engineering disciplines to identify and develop engineering skills that align with Microsoft best practices, this include developing training and tools to facilitate the cross groups collaboration and building stronger teams social ties and trust to address some of the most pressing challenges facing distributed products teams.

Who we're looking for?
We are looking for a talented senior test lead with strong leadership skills and a passion for testing, quality, agility, efficiency, and understands the importance of growing people in test and the impact that strong leadership has on the test community. And, would you like to teach and mentor testers.

Primary Responsibilities include:
As the Senior Test Lead for the Test Engineering Excellence (EE) for the India Development Center (IDC) you will play a key role in scoping the projects, identifying the resources needs, hire and manage the number of contractors needed. In addition you'd lead the development of the test plans, tools and automation for testing the distributed development solutions we will deliver to strengthen distributed teams collaborations. Furthermore, in this role you'd have a direct responsibility of Coaching & training SDETs across the India development centers by leveraging existing EE curriculum and in some cases adapting this curriculum for specific team needs, with a focus on growing strong technical IC capability and building technical skills. Another key responsibility is lead the effort to develop the test communities working collaboratively and building trust with the test leadership across the different business groups.

As a successful candidate you should have:
• Must have a successful history of shipping products at Microsoft
• Passion for improving people, processes, and tools, and get energized by teaching and mentoring test engineers to grow their career
• A breadth of knowledge of testing techniques - and experience applying those techniques to test Microsoft products is critical for success in this position
• Excellent customer focus and Strong written and verbal communication skills - Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate technical information
• Good self-organizational skills
• Work closely with the Program Management and Development teams to execute on product goals
• Experience working across multiple groups and teams
• A desire to identify the best technologies to produce breakthroughs in quality and efficiency
• A broad awareness of Microsoft and industry testing technologies and processes with the ability to identify critical challenges and opportunities
• Experience developing test specs/plans, automation and infrastructure through multiple product cycles, including planning and schedule management
• Experience working in a geographically distributed team environment is a plus
• 4+ years experience in SDET role
• 2+ years of leading and managing a testing team
• Good knowledge of C#, C++, C, and .Net framework. experience with automation frameworks and Web technologies (XML, .NET Services, ASP.NET). Experience with SQL Server and client/server
• A BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical professional
